I have tried several different diets, including Weight Watchers, over the counter weight- loss tablets, tablets prescribed by doctors, shakes ext, all with no success.

I’ve had a very good over-all experience. The staff at Artemis Hospital always made sure that I was comfortable with everything that was going on, before and after surgery. They were always there to answer any questions that I had, especially during the time that they did all the tests before the operation. They never kept me in the dark about anything. First thing that I can remember after I woke up from the operation, was one of the nurses smiling faces, and her making sure that I was comfortable. That meant so much to me. And after the operation, they were always there to keep an eye on me, making sure everything was ok. The 4 days after the operation that I was still in hospital, Dr. Goel came to see me everyday – sometimes 2 to 3 times a day! I appreciated that so much!

Dr. Goel was excellent! Dr. Goel was always there to reassure me when I was worried about something. Even now, 6 months after my surgery, I can still contact him with any questions that I have. It is good to know that I can still count on Dr. Goel now, because there’s not many surgeons who’s like that. I am so glad that Dr. Goel was my surgeon, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better! I would highly recommend Dr. Goel to anybody who is considering surgery!!!

After the operation, it took me quite a while to settle into my “new” life. It was strange that my 2 year old daughter can eat more than me, but after 6 months, I’ve settled in very well. I am so much more active than before, and a lot healthier. For the first time in years, I’m able to play with my children, run around with them, play soccer and to join them with what-ever game they are playing. About 2-3 months after my operation, my son told me: “Mommy, it is so nice that you can play with us”. It broke my heart, because all of us have missed out on so much because of my obesity. And now, I’m making up for everything that we have lost! And it feels great not to only think about how nice it would be to do something with them, but to actually be able to do it! Now, I’m fit, I’m healthy and I’m happy!

I have been suffering from diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol, cancer (diffuse large B-cell lymphoma) and morbid obese with body mass index 41.6. My parents were so concerned about my weight that I started working out at the age of 7. I have done weight watchers, Adkins South Beach, 1800 calories diet using diabetic exchanges and all would work for a short time.

I am a very finicky patient, and while in a hospital I would imagine myself at times to be difficult to satisfy. However, Dr. Goel, went above and beyond my expectations during surgery, and he came and visited every single day I was in the hospital ( and I even personally extended my hospital stay for a few days - as opposed to staying in a guest house ). Since my surgery less than three months ago, my weight has fallen from 290lbs to less than 215lbs, and I can assure anyone who cares to read this, that I am far less than what one would call a compliant patient. I would recommend Forerunners to anyone considering surgery and I can personally attest to the fact that your in excellent hands while your at Artemis Health Sciences Hospital & under the care of Dr. Goel & staff - to many to mention personally - Anup Kumar Handa - every hospital should hope to have such a competent Executive - International Sales Support.

Dr. Goel is fantastic! I have had a few experiences with doctors in the US that didn’t seem to care very much after they were done with their part, but Dr. Goel seems to be the exact opposite. He came to my room to check on me every day, sometimes just to chat. He seemed to legitimately care about how I was feeling. This was especially shocking considering how extraordinary the nurses are at Artemis, he really didn’t need to visit me personally and yet he did. I’m sure he had other patients and more pressing matters to attend to, but still he took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and recovering well. When I first came to India I was nervous that I had made the wrong decision, but after I spoke to Dr. Goel I felt more confident about my decision and knew in my heart that I had made the right decision and that everything was going to be ok.
